Creative and Practical Arts

 

Creative Arts is the Key Learning area where students develop knowledge, skills and understanding about:

  • Visual Arts

  • Music

  • Drama

  • Dance

 

At Beelbangera Public School each of the art forms is acknowledged for its unique contribution to the Creative Arts and student learning.  The students will in:

  • Visual Arts:

P Make artworks informed by their investigations of the world as subject matter, using expressive forms and consideration of the audience for their works.

P Appreciate their own artworks and those of others, recognising some relationships between artists, artworks, audiences and how the world is interpreted.

  •  Music:

P Perform music of different styles and from different times and cultures by singing, playing and moving, and in organising sound into musical compositions using musical concepts.

P Listen to and discuss their own music and that of others.

  • Drama:

P Perform collaboratively by taking on roles and creating imagined situations shaped by the elements of drama, and in performing drama by actively engaging in drama forms.

P Appreciate their own dramatic works and those of others.

  • Dance:

P Compose their own dances using the elements and contexts of dance and perform their own dances and the dances of others from different times and cultures.

P Appreciate their own dances and those of others.

 

Beelbangera Public School is proud of its many wonderful programs operating in this KLA:

Activities in the classroom and on an extra curricular basis have traditionally strengthened the Kindergarten to Year 6 art culture within the school.
